Goway Travel Onboard New Ship Ventus Australis as it ‘Rounds the Horn’
Goway Travel is proud to launch its new 9-day Patagonia cruise, starting and finishing in Punta Arenas. The new itinerary gives Globetrotters the chance to sail aboard the all new Ventus Australis. To celebrate, Goway is offering passengers 3 complimentary nights’ accommodation – 2 in Santiago and one in Punta Arenas – and return airport transfers in Santiago saving $745US / $955CA per couple.
The outer edge of the world awaits on this 9-day journey along the same waterways that inspired Charles Darwin. The itinerary retraces much of the route the renowned British naturalist took through the Fuegian Archipelago aboard HMS Beagle in the 1830s, a voyage that inspired him to write The Origin of the Species and formulate the theory of evolution.
Departing from Punta Arenas, Globetrotters will cross the Strait of Magellan to visit the Tuckers Islets penguin colony and wildlife rich Ainsworth Bay, before cruising Patagonia down the Beagle Channel to visit Pía Glacier and sail through Glacier Alley. On either side of a half-day port call in Ushuaia, the ship stops at historic Wulaia Bay and fabled Cape Horn before returning to the Strait of Magellan for a shore excursion at Magdalena Island with its rowdy penguin colony. Traveling into Patagonia, this cruise gives passengers the option to round Cape Horn, and even land there, weather permitting.
Along with the Stella Australis the newly built, Ventus Australis is a state-of-the-art, 4-star ship sailing the waters of Patagonia in Chile and Argentina.
The Ventus Australis is tailor-made for exploring the remote southern tip of South America. All aspects of the 210-passenger ship including size, length, draft, and engine power are designed to give Ventus Australis the extreme maneuverability necessary to navigate narrow fjords and channels where no other cruise ships can venture.
The Ventus Australis offers Globetrotters a relaxed stay, while taking in breathtaking sights from the upper decks. In between stops, they can wine and dine, mix and mingle, and enjoy fabulous entertainment. Passengers can even stay fit on their Patagonia cruise as the ship contains a gym.
Expedition cruises begin January 2, 2018 in remote Patagonia and are now available for booking with Goway Travel. Ventus Australis, Latin for “Southern Wind,” reflects Tierra del Fuego’s distinctive weather and the new vessel will give Globetrotters a chance to experience the remoteness of Patagonia, stepping ashore at fabled Cape Horn when conditions allow.
Passengers can take advantage of the 3 complimentary nights’ accommodation and return airport transfers in Santiago when booking for sailings from January to March and September to December 2018, and January to March 2019.
