Mauritius: More than just another beach destination

Mauritius is a small volcanic island located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa. Unlike the nearby Seychelles, Mauritius is one large island, making it very easy to navigate and tour around. The mainland is lush with subtropical forests and volcanic craters while the waters are home to the world’s third-largest coral reef.

Mauritius is also not only a beach destination. It is rich in culture and history and is a perfect destination for adventure seekers. Of course, the beaches and resorts are absolutely stunning, but Mauritius offers so much beauty in its mountainous landscape and the local culture. Mauritians are so friendly and hospitable and their culture is very unique.

On vacation here, you can enjoy seeing unique wildlife, shopping at the markets in Port Louis for some handcrafted textiles and souvenirs, and take advantage of the pristine turquoise waters that surround the island. The island offers plenty of water activities including swimming with wild dolphins, underwater submarine rides, and adventure parks for all ages.

Beyond the beach, you’ll find championship golf courses and exceptional spas where you can pamper yourself with wellness treatments and unwind from days filled with outdoor activities. Those looking for adventure on land can take a walk with the lions, visit a safari, go zip-lining, quad biking, or see the unforgettable tones of the Seven-Coloured Earth, known for its vibrant swirls and stripes of soil and so much more!
