ON GOLDEN POND-ERING
The Golden Anniversary of Goway Travel was all set to be a glorious celebration. A year filled with Fam trips, parties, Agent Incentives and more. Plans were made, all was set to go, and… here we are.
At least with the celebration pushed to 2021, we have all that to look forward to!
We also have time right now to ponder the very reasons we chose the travel industry for a career. As I pondered this, I wondered what it would be like to be “a fly on the wall” in places that are now devoid of tourists, but still hum with life. Are these destinations enjoying the silence, or are we missed?
As I pondered…
I thought about the glow worms in the Waitomo Caves in New Zealand, lighting up the dark caves with their incandescent glow.
I thought about the Blacktip Reef Sharks and Stingrays in Tahiti searching the waters for the gentle tourists that fly around the world for the privilege of swimming at their side.
I thought about the Albatross in Galapagos that are soaring the skies in search of signs of a vessel bringing visitors to explore their unique home.
I thought about the children in a Masaai Village in East Africa, missing the treats and contributions they so enjoy as they interact with safari goers.
I thought about the hollow cathedrals, palaces, and museums of Europe. Yes, to be a fly on the wall, as we wait for a green light.
But most of all, I want to be a fly on the wall of a globetrotter’s home, as they start a brand new bucket list for 2021 and beyond.
I’m ready. I’m sure you are too!
