Wishes Work Wonders!

As a partner of the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada, Team Goway competed for the 2nd year at the annual “Exile Island” fundraiser.

Spirits were high as we met our Wish child, Adam, at the ferry terminal. Our “Team Adam” shirts and flag were proudly on display and escorted by members of Darth Vader’s 501st Legion – important to note that Adam is a HUGE Star Wars fan!

It was a cold, wet, windy day on Exile Island (Centre Island, Toronto), but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the Goway survivors, who competed in challenges that involved walking the plank (blindfold); building a raft to float in the lake (yes, a few wet people!) and a relay race.

We managed to raise an astounding $10,300 to pay for Adam’s Wish trip to go on a Star Wars Disney Cruise with his family.

To top it off, Team Goway was presented with their very own “Roary” (Children’s Wish Foundation mascot) for winning the award for Team Spirit – but by far, the best reward was the smile on Adam’s face.
